Laura "Jackie" Middleton
   A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. for Laura "Jackie" Middleton of Carnation who died on Oct. 11 in Seattle.
   Ms. Middleton was born Sept. 16, 1920 in Croswell, Michigan. She lived in Carnation for three-plus decades.
   She graduated in 1938 from Croswell High School, Croswell, Michigan and later graduated from St. Petersburg Jr. College, St. Petersburg, Florida.
   She served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1950. She received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Campaign Medal and the WW II Victory Medal. She served in Michigan, New York, California and Washington.
   She enjoyed her dog, Gunner and cat, Joy, in retirement. She also enjoyed exploring the U.S. in her RV with friends (and Gunner and Joy). At home she had a passion for keeping home and yard beautiful.
   She was employed at Lake Forest Park Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant. She retired in 1983.
   She was a member of the Sno-Valley Senior Center. She was pre-deceased by her companion, Ruth Pflueger. She is survived by her sister, Frances Keppen, Michigan, and nephew Jack Dundas of California.
   Arrangements by Green's Funeral Home in Redmond. Services will be Saturday, Oct. 21, 2 p.m. at Tolt Congregational United Church of Christ, 4851 Tolt Ave., Carnation. Pastor Jeff Spencer will officiate.
