Bothell Parks & Rec classes

The following classes are offered by the City of Bothell Parks & Recreation Department. Registration is required, call (425) 486-7430 for more information.
   Tae Kwon-Do is an ongoing class offered Monday and Wednesday nights at the Kenmore Jr. High cafeteria (€please note the change in location from previous offerings of this class). The first session is from 6:20-7p.m. for 7-12 year olds. The second session is from 7-8 p.m. for ages 13 to adult.
   Fees are due at the beginning of each month: $40/month, $30/month for second family member.
   Owls and Bats: Creatures of the Night for ages 6-11 will be presented Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 6:15-8:15 p.m. at the Bothell Downtown Firehouse, 10726 Beardslee Blvd. As the days get shorter, the nights are longer, it's owl and bat time. Join the fun learning more about these nocturnal animals: where to find them, what they like to eat and how they catch their food. $9/person.
   Dhyana Yoga (P) for ages 18 and up is held Wednesdays, Nov. 1-29, from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Northshore Sr. Center, 10201 E. Riverside Dr. Each of the five classes per session will include gentle movements and stretches, vigorous movement, deep stretches, breathing, deep relaxation, and guided visualization. $50/session.
   Dhyana Yoga (A) meets Wednesdays, Nov. 1-29, from 7-8:15 p.m., and is for those who would like a more physically challenging class. $50/session.
   Garage Band Night for junior high students is planned for Friday, Nov. 3, from 7-10 p.m., at Anderson School cafeteria, 18603 Bothell Way NE. Are you ready to get out of the garage and in front of a live crowd? This is your night. Auditions must be completed by Oct. 27. Please call Steven Dahl at Bothell Parks & Recreation, 425-486-7430.
   All Aboard for the train to Vancouver B.C. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 8 a.m. with a return at approximately 9 p.m. Meet at the Everett Train Station, 2900 Bond Street and catch the train to start your Christmas shopping or tour Granville Island or downtown Vancouver, with meals on your own. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Please be prepared for a delay in departing Vancouver. Bring documents necessary to cross the border (i.e., birth certificate, passport or green card).
   Photos-4-Me, Scrapbooking will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for ages 8 & up. Bring approximately 25-40 pictures of your favorite things - friends, family or hobbies - organized and ready to go. Supply fee includes a 5 x 7 expandable photo-safe album, 10 pages, (20 sides), page covers, adhesive, decorative supplies, a black and metallic pen. $10/person registration. $35 supply fee to instructor on day of class.
   Introduction to Scrapbooking will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Adult Day Center, 9929 NE 180th, Bothell. Free class, pre-registration required. Learn how to turn those piles of photos and memorabilia into beautiful photo-safe albums. Learn cropping techniques, mounting options, fast page layout ideas, photo organization and how to get started.
   Scrapbooking: Fall Workshop is planned for Thursday, Nov.9, from 7-10 p.m. at the Adult Day Center, 9929 NE 180th, Bothell. Bring your scrapbooking projects, and boxes of photos. Workshop includes a New Idea Handout, snack and beverage. (Scrapbooking albums, tools and decorative supplies will be available for purchase.) $10/evening.

   Couple's Massage, Thursday, November 16, 6:30-9:30 p.m., ages 18 & up, Couples Only. Adult Day Center, 9929 NE 180th. With the added stresses of the holidays, take time to learn how to massage each other's shoulders, neck and back in a seated position. Dress casually and be prepared to unwind. Instructor Bonni Sundberg LMP, will contact you before the class for instruction on what to bring. $50/couple.
