County hosts public meeting on North Creek Wastewater Storage Facility Project
King County will host a public meeting Oct. 26 at the Bothell Fire Department and EMS Training Room, 10726 Beardslee Boulevard, to discuss plans to build an underground wastewater storage facility at 18707 North Creek Parkway. The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
Representatives from the King County Wastewater Treatment Division are seeking community input on the draft design of the facility.
The facility was called for under the Regional Wastewter Services Plan.
The purpose of the facility is to temporarily store wastewater during extreme storm events to reduce the potential for sewage overflows into Lake Washington.
It will hold a maximum of six-million gallons of wastewater.
Dave Dittmar, King County Project Manager says, "We want the community to understand the project and have an opportunity to provide comments on it."
The meeting will have an open house from 6 to 7 p.m., and from 7 to 8 p.m. there will be a presentation of the design and opportunity for comments and ask questions.
