Martin Bredsten, a resident of Duvall since 1945, passed away Oct. 17 at his home at the age of 89.
Martin was born in Amli, Norway on Sept. 12, 1911. He was a Merchant Marine in Norway and during World War II he emigrated to Seattle and was a fisherman in Alaska for many years. He then went into construction and retired from Newland Construction in Everett in 1972.
In his younger days he was a Duvall volunteer fireman and his pleasures were fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Nora of 63 years, and daughters Marit and Bob McManus of Duvall and Elsie and Bob Anderson of Everett.
His six grandchildren are Dr. Rick and Shauna McManus of Redmond, Chris McManus of Bellevue, Stacy and Sean Bandy of California, Angie and Mike Williams of Snohomish, Lori and Todd Anderson of Edmonds and Heidi and Ben Wheeler of Everett.
His six great-grandchildren are Nicole and Scott McManus, Sarah and Jessica Williams and Tyler and Cole Anderson.
He is also survived by three brothers and numerous relatives in Norway, We will all miss you, Papa!
There will be no service at his request. Remembrances may be made to Hospice and Duvall Fire Department.
