50th Wedding Anniversary
Anne and Joseph Edwards were recently honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration and family reunion at Bear Creek Country Club.
Among the 75 guests were Anne's mother, Anna Arp, who is 94 years old, as well as two members of the wedding party, Joseph's sister Florence Coconato of New York and Herbert Hall of California.
The Edwards were married Nov. 12, 1950 in Queens, N.Y. They lived in New York, were briefly in Iceland, moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 1965 and settled in Woodinville in 1989.
Mr. Edwards had a career with the U.S. Geological Survey as a marine electrician. He accompanied research vessels to Antarctica, Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands. He retired in 1985.
Mrs. Edwards also worked for the U.S. Geological Survey as a personnel officer and retired in 1985.
Since then the couple has enjoyed traveling and being with their family.
Their children include son, Thomas Edwards and wife Juanita of San Diego; daughters, Cathy Castro and her husband Rick, and Helen Stewart and husband Mike, all of Woodinville. Their seven grandchildren are Paul-Michael, Aaron, Matthew, Alyssa, Timothy, Jeffrey and Emily.
