Memorial services will be held for June Stauffacher Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Greene's Funeral Home in Kirkland. Burial will follow at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
She was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Detroit, Mich., and was raised in Oak Park, Ill., where she met and married Harry Stauffacher during the war.
June and Harry spent 28 years with the U.S. Navy moving across the country many times. When Harry retired from the Navy, the family started raising and showing Morgan horses under the name of Figurehead Morgans.
Survivors include her husband, Harry (Bill) Stauffacher, Woodinville; daughters, Dinah Morris, Cheney and Betty Gallagher of Woodinville; son, David Stauffacher, Spokane; nine grandchildren, Mary, Sheri, Kelli, Suzie, David, Lori, Bryan, Jim and Bob; and nine great-grandchildren.
