WHS invites community to join in food drive

by Brianna Bylenga, WHS leadership class
Working in partnership with local radio station KISS 106.1, Woodinville High School announces its annual food drive, going on now until Friday, Nov. 17. KISS has invited area high schools to participate in this second annual drive, with the food going to Northwest Harvest. The school with the most food items collected wins a free concert. Last year, this event produced the largest ever donation Northwest Harvest had received.
The students at WHS have held food drives for years, reaching out to help those who may be less fortunate. They invite the community to join in this effort by bringing any non-perishable food items to the WHS main office, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, look for students in your neighborhood collecting for the food drive. Last year, Woodinville High students demonstrated significant effort in the food drive, giving Northwest Harvest thousands of cans and bags of non-perishable food. With the support of the community, the students hope to make this year's donation an even greater success.
