Fire, hospital measures approved
School district waiting on sports fields
Duvall/Fire District 45's request for $4.2 million to build a new central fire station in Duvall and replace two outlying stations with a new one was approved by voters. King County Elections reported last Friday the measure passed with 68.45 percent.
Also approved was the annexation of the Duvall area to the Evergreen Hospital District by 71.20 percent voting in favor. The measure will bring a primary medical facility to the town, which has been without one for over two years.
It was too close to call for Riverview School District officials who were waiting out their fifth try at passing sports facilities for Cedarcrest High School.
A 60 percent approval is needed. Counts late last Friday reported 59.85 percent votes in favor. Board President Laura Ritter said the district will not know the final result until all the absentee ballots are counted.
