Children's Services starts volunteer guild

NORTH BEND - Children's Services of Sno-Valley has announced the formation of "Friends of Children's Services," a group that will provide volunteer service through special event planning and assistance, and fund-raising support.
Those who love children and can commit two to three hours per month over the next year are encouraged to offer to serve as a "Friend." A variety of functional units, including mailing teams, wish list procurement teams, event decorating teams and many more will be needed. Members can invite friends and co-workers to join them and create an opportunity to get to know people better while making a difference in the community.
Children's Services can assist those who cannot drive or who need to do their volunteer service from home. Seniors and retirees are strongly encouraged.
No special skills are needed. A volunteer coordinator who has considerable experience with Children's Services will serve a team liaison. Training will be provided.
The mission of Children's Services of Sno-Valley is to nurture, educate, strengthen and support children and their families so that each has the opportunity and skills to reach full potential. For information, call Elaine Nutter at (425) 888-2777.
