Deaf Kids Drama Festival
Seattle Children's Theatre (SCT) will present the 11th semiannual Deaf Kids Drama Festival at 2 and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, in the Eve Alvord Theatre at Seattle Center. These performances give local deaf children a chance to showcase the theatre skills they learned from classes with SCT's Deaf Youth Drama Program (DYDP). Deaf students will perform short plays in American Sign Language, with English voice-over provided during both shows. The students developed the pieces during 14 weeks of acting classes and rehearsals provided by the Deaf Youth Drama Program and taught by DYDP director and theatre artist Billy Seago.
The festival performances are open to the public. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and seniors. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call the SCT box office at (206) 441-3322 (voice or tty).
