Seattle Art Museum presents Art of Jazz

The sounds of great jazz will once again fill the Seattle Art Museum's Brotman Hall as the Art of Jazz series returns for its ninth season with such luminaries as Jessica Williams and Kendra Shank. From January through June, on the second Thursday of the month, SAM collaborates with Earshot Jazz to bring national jazz artists to Seattle.
This year's roster includes the Jessica Williams Trio, Jovino Santos Neto Quinteto, Kendra Shank, Clarence Acox Sextet, the Aaron Parks Trio and the Marriot Jazz Quintet.
Musicians perform in the lobby, where the seating - 80 chairs near the stage and bleacher-style space on the Grand Staircase - creates a connection between the artists and audience. This sense of intimacy, combined with the staircase's cathedral-like ceiling and the quality of music, has made the series a Seattle favorite for years. Free with museum admission, the concerts start at 5:30 p.m.
