Meet Mark Twain at SecondStory
SecondStory Repertory (SSR), will present Stan Gill in his one-man show, Mark Twain's Final Tour, through Jan. 27, at SSR's theatre in Redmond Town Center. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15 p.m., with one "Pay What You Can" performance on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 8:15 p.m.
At the turn of the 20th century, Mark Twain toured the world. In his seventies by then, he entertained audiences with his hilarious, bold and poignant comments on the human condition. These controversial performances gave his audiences new insight into the nation's most beloved author and humorist.
Mr. Twain may recount, if he is so inclined, his experience with newspaper interviewers; cannibals (for whom interviewers have sometimes been mistaken); foreign tour guides; grandfather's old ram; an unfortunate mishap with a glass eye; and, alas, "the girl who got away." Huckleberry Finn may just make an appearance as well.
Tickets for Mark Twain's Final Tour are $16-$18, depending on the night, with a $4 discount for students and senior citizens. The SecondStory Repertory is located upstairs next to Borders Books in Redmond Town Center. To charge tickets, call the box office at (425) 881-6777.
