Carnation resident Vince Brown, photographer and Carnation Elementary School volunteer extraordinaire, will be featured in a photography show at Highline Community College. The show, Dance & Blur, will run until Feb. 2 in the library on the fourth floor. Brown's work can also be seen in the March issue of Seattle Magazine.
Brown serves as the official photographer for the Seattle Fringe Festival, a performance arts festival that runs March 8-18 at various venues in the Capital Hill area of Seattle.
"My specialty is shooting in available or natural light, and I tend to shoot toward the arts. I like to do digital composites," said Brown.
Brown's Web site, has been reviewed in the national publication "Shutterbugs" as having "a unique perspective," and the Web site is continually revised for content.
For 10 years Brown has photographed subjects ranging from local scenes and portraits to dance troupes and plays whatever catches his eye that he wants to preserve in a picture.
Brown also gives many hours of volunteer time and materials to Carnation Elementary School photographing events and helping with the yearbook.
