18 Northshore seniors
The National Merit Scholarship Foundation has named 18 Northshore seniors as National Merit Finalists. Finalists represent fewer than one-half of 1 percent of each state's graduating class.
The finalists from Bothell High School are James Deville, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Deville of Bothell; Dimitrios Grillos, son of Mr. And Mrs. Emmanuel Grillos of Kirkland; Jessice McDaniel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McDaniel of Bothell; and Jesse Smith, son of Ms. Tracy Cole of Bothell.
Those named from Inglemoor High School are Jessica Bazick, daughter of Patrick and Gregoria Bazick of Bothell; Sheila Bijoor, daughter of Shivaram and Nandini Bijoor of Kenmore; Leah Boris, daughter of John and Cynthia Boris of Kirkland; Jennifer Cheng, daughter of Edison and Faling Cheng of Bothell; Moira Klockner, daughter of Bruce Bulloch and Kerry Klockner of Bothell; Heather Lee, daughter of Brian and Suzanne Lee of Woodinville; Erin Mackintosh, daughter of Bruce and Joanne Mackintosh of Woodinville; Dakota Solberg, son of Sonja Solberg of Bothell; Brianne Ullman, daughter of Steven and Laura Ullman of Bothell; Kenneth Walden, son of James and Karen Walden of Bothell; and Kevin Weil, son of David and Marsha Weil of Redmond.
The finalists from Woodinville High School are Laurel Gordon, daughter of James and Marcia Gordon of Woodinville; Mary Elizabeth Hawkins, daughter of Kenneth and Mary Helen Hawkins of Woodinville; and Gary Stute, son of Cynthia Trujillo and Ryan Stute of Woodinville.
Across the nation, the foundation designated about 14,000 finalists from among the semifinalists named last September.
These students now compete for some 7,000 National Merit Scholarships to be awarded this spring.
