DUVALL - "After I won my finals match, the first thing that came to mind was, what next?" This was Cedarcrest High School sophomore Aaron Pedeferri's reaction to finishing number one in the 3A, 112-pound weight class at the WIAA Wrestling Classic held at the Tacoma Dome, Feb. 16 and 17.
Indeed, not only he, but the other members of the Pedeferri clan were thinking the same thing. Aaron is upholding a family tradition that spans 40 years. Aaron's dad Walt placed second at the 115-pound weight class in 1966, while Aaron's older brother Eric placed fourth in State in 1999 and second at 119 pounds in 2000.
Three cousins have had successes of their own, including top places in State tournaments and All-American Freestyle titles.
With two Kingco and two Regional championship under his belt, this Duvall wrestler has much to look forward to.
Answering his own question, Aaron said, "What next? Work hard to do the same thing next year."
No doubt, with family support and past success, the momentum is there.
