New principal for Northshore Junior High

Ray Houser, currently the interim principal of Northshore Junior High, has been selected principal of the same school effective July 1.
Houser, formerly a counselor and administrative intern at Northshore Junior High, was appointed interim principal last July when John Bond, the previous principal, was promoted to Executive Director of Elementary Education.
"I'm very pleased with Ray's selection as Northshore Junior High's principal," commented Harry Vanikiotis, executive director of secondary education.
"The combination of Ray's understanding of interpersonal communication and early adolescent growth and development plus his commitment to student achievement and lifelong learning, make him an excellent fit in this junior high.
"Simply put, he's well equipped to meet the challenges of today's changing educational environment."
Prior to joining the Northshore School District, Houser worked in the Lake Stevens School District for nine years as a teacher in industrial arts, social studies, math and physical education and in the Monroe School District for four years as a high school counselor.
House lives in Edmonds with his wife Kathryn and their two children, Charlianne, age 7, and Jacob, age 3.
