Blood drive announced

Thanks to a snowstorm and an earthquake, this region's blood supply is critically low in O Positive, O Negative and A Negative blood types, according to the Puget Sound Blood Center. Woodinville residents can help at a blood drive at the Bear Creek United Methodist Church onTuesday, March 27, from 2 - 4:15 p.m. or from 5 - 8 p.m. The church is located at 16530 Avondale Rd. Every day, people in this region need 800 pints of donated blood. When even just a few scheduled blood drives are cancelled due to bad weather or earthquakes, a blood supply shortage can quickly develop.
Woodinville residents have donated more than 2,000 pints of blood over the past five years, in quarterly blood drives sponsored through the ecumenical effort of the Cottage Lake Cluster of Churches, including Bear Creek United Methodist; Northshore United Church of Christ; Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church; Wooden Cross Lutheran; Cottage Lake Presbyterian; and the Jewish Kol Ami Congregation.
