Ryan Matthews on UW Dean's List

Duvall resident Ryan Matthews has been named to the quarterly Dean's List at the University of Washington, due to his high grade point average for this past quarter. Ryan, a 2000 Cedarcrest graduate, earned a 3.73 GPA for the autumn quarter.
Ryan, a freshman, is enjoying the challenges provided by the University of Washington. Besides attending classes, playing the guitar and working out, Ryan tutored a student at Meany Middle School in Seattle and enjoyed seeing this student being able to pass the test to go on to the next grade level. Ryan was creative in his efforts and also taught his student to play chess. He found his time at Meany Middle School rewarding.
Ryan received the Promise Scholarship for his academic excellence and leadership at Cedarcrest High School, a Valley scholarship from the Stillwater PTSA and a Northshore Education Association Scholarship. He lives on campus in the dorm and enjoys the social life in the dorm and on campus.
Ryan is the son of Doug and Sheryl Matthews of Duvall.
