Basketball awards presented at banquet

   The basketball season for the Woodinville boys' varsity team ended at last Monday night's award banquet held at the high school.
   Players, coaches, family and friends from the sixth through ninth-grade traveling select teams as well as the sophomore junior varsity and varsity teams attended.
   Amusing stories from players and coaches accompanied dinner and entertainment.
   The evening stressed the success of the season which included wins over teams from Redmond and Eastlake, both of whom made it to the state basketball tourney.The evening concluded with awards presented to the varsity players.
   Josh Stern was recognized as having the best defensive intensity. Junior Zack McVey received the Most Improved Award and the Coach's Award went to senior Jak Thulien. The Scholar Athlete trohpy and the Most Valuable Award went to Dayne Mickelson.
