2001 Partners With Youth goal
Pledges reported by 235 volunteers on March 7 totaled more than $185,000 for the Northshore YMCA's Partners With Youth Campaign. Donations surpassed the $183,000 goal and are an increase of $20,000 over last year's effort.
According to volunteer Campaign Chair Jan Runkel, the funds raised through the Partners With Youth Campaign are an excellent investment in the community.
In addition to providing program scholarships, local Partners With Youth contributions are matched by the YMCA of Greater Seattle to support a full-time youth development director. Zemorah Wainhouse directs youth programs that serve more than 2,000 middle and high school students annually in Bothell, Woodinville, Duvall, Kenmore and Juanita. Programs include the Leaders Club, Youth & Government, Earth Service Corps, Teen Xtreme, Kids' Night Out, Teen Nights, Snowboarding Trips and California Caravan. Wainhouse also oversees the newly established Northshore YMCA Teen Center in cooperation with Bothell First Lutheran Church. For information, call (425) 485-9797.
