Barn fire started in burn pile
DUVALLFire crews responding to a reported brush fire last week discovered the flames had also consumed the back wall of a barn. Crews from Duvall and Woodinville doused the flames and checked for hot spots.
An investigator from the Fire Marshal's Office determined the fire spread from a burn pile that was left unattended.
Duvall Fire Chief John Lambert said the garbage burn was illegal and urged residents to contact their local fire department for regulations on outdoor burning.
"The potential is high for dangerous wildfires this year," he said. "People need to be extremely cautious."
