KCLS celebrates readers

King County Library System (KCLS) is inviting adult readers to join a yearlong celebration of reading through its new Reading Rewards program. Adults over the age of 18 can join the KCLS community of readers by committing to read 50 or more books in the coming year.
Participants of the program will be asked to submit periodic book reviews, and in return, receive a reading journal to record their reading; booklists; announcements of reading-related activities; and a quarterly magazine of book reviews. A special limited edition gold library card will be given to participants who read 50 or more books.
As incentive to join early, the first 10,000 people to join Reading Rewards will receive a copy of "The Book Lover's Diary" to record their reading accomplishments. All other participants will receive a special reading log.
To join Reading Rewards, adult readers in King County are asked to fill out an application, which includes the submission of a simple book review.
Reading Rewards is part of the KCLS Reading Initiative, a mission to reach out to the community and raise awareness of the importance of reading as a daily part of life.
For more information, or to fill out a Reading Rewards application, visit the KCLS Web site at www.kcls.org or any KCLS community library. King County Library System - find the unexpected.
