Rotary Club accepting auction items
The Woodinville Rotary Club is now accepting items for their next auction Sept. 8 at the Bellevue Hyatt. All proceeds from the auction are donated back to the community with the Children's Country Home as this year's primary beneficiary. The Rotary typically raises over $100,000 each year after holding their golf tournament and out of the ordinary auction.
"We try to push for items that are things you just can't go out and buy," said Rorry Dunbar, auction chair. Among some of the unusual offerings up for bid in the past have included: Name the Park (the winning bid was $10,000 and the park was named DeYoung Park); a behind the scenes tour at Experience the Music Project in Seattle; a dinner trip for eight to Vancouver in a Costco Corporate jet; cookies for a year (Dunbar's wife and two friends bake the cookies and deliver the baked goods once a month for a year.)
