Two seniors selected as Washington Scholars
Two Northshore School District seniors have been selected as Washington Scholars:
Bothell High School: Dimitrios Grillos, son of Emmanuel Grillos II of Bellevue and Alex Dunne of Snohomish.
Woodinville High School: Yong-Hwa Lee, daughter of Jung Yong Lee and Han C. Lee of Bothell.
The Washington Scholars Program was established by the State Legislature in 1981 to designate 147 graduating seniors annually statewide, three from each legislative district, for academic achievement, leadership and community service.
Washington Scholars who attend a public or participating independent college or university in Washington may receive a state grant to assist with educational costs.
To qualify for the grant, a Scholar must enter a college or university in Washington state within three years of high school graduation and maintain a 3.30 grade point average.
