Bothell police officer at CCC

Cascadia Community College (CCC) has announced the arrival of Bothell Police Officer Dione Thompson as the first school resource officer (SRO) on campus. Thompson's primary responsibility is to be a resource to the campus and serve as a liaison with the police department.
   "The SRO is a very beneficial program to both Cascadia and the police department. Officer Thompson will provide another way to reach out to the youth and make the youth a bigger part of the community," Bothell Police Crime Prevention Officer Elmer Brown said.
   As a member of Cascadia Community College, Officer Thompson will focus her efforts on developing academic programs relating to law enforcement, establishing a student cadet program, as well as providing the support of a police officer for increased campus safety.
   Officer Thompson will spend her full-time days on the Cascadia Community College campus.
   Officer Thompson said, "I'm excited to be involved in this unique collaboration between the police department and Cascadia Community College. While assigned here, I hope to create positive and lasting relations with the staff and students on campus."
   Officer Thompson has been on the Bothell police force for almost three years.
   , and previously worked as an elementary and substitute teacher in the greater Seattle area.
