National Grange Week April 15-21
April 15-21 has been designated National Grange Week in honor of granges as family fraternities that provide aid in agricultural, legislative issues and community concerns.
Nationally granges were responsible for the rural free mail delivery system. Statewide the organization furthered the Columbia Basin irrigation system with the building of the Grand Coulee Dam.
Locally the Sammamish Valley Grange has a newly recreated junior grange. The grange also provides its hall for use by senior groups for exercises, health information and other local groups.
Community members are invited to visit grange meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7:30 p.m except June, July and August when the group meets only on the first Wednesday. For information, call (425) 483-2693.
