Kokanee students Allison Coombs and Karenna Dahl help in the tree potting effort.
One hundred students from Kokanee Elementary PACE program braved the rain on April 12 to pot 1,100 native trees south of Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville. They were joined by 30 Bothell High School Earth Club members, seven UW Bothell students and four Timbercrest Junior High students. The newly potted trees will be watered by students from Timbercrest and Leota junior high schools, with water provided by Waterford Apartments management. Soil for the potting was delivered and provided at a discount by McLendon's. The event was sponsored by the city of Woodinville.
