Hopelink, Eastside Literacy to merge

Hopelink and Eastside Literacy Council recently announced that they will merge beginning July 1. Hopelink helps homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities. Eastside Literacy helps those who need to learn to read and write and teaches English-as-a-Second-Language classes.
  
   for refuges and immigrants. Increased literacy skills directly benefit children, the economy and the community, by increasing parental involvement in children's education, helping people get and keep better jobs.
   Hopelink has emergency services in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Northshore, Shoreline and Sno-Valley. Eastside Literacy has learning centers in Bellevue and Duvall as well as offering literacy services throughout the Eastside.
