Kay Barnes exhibit opens May 11
Northshore artist Kay Barnes opens an exhibit of her works at Kaewyn Gallery in downtown Bothell on Friday, May 11, with a public reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
Entitled "New Beginnings," the exhibit will feature a new body of works in addition to her representational watercolors.
Barnes is an active member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, past president of the Eastside Association of Fine Arts, an associate member of the National Watercolor Society and a signing member of the California Watercolor Society.Barnes has worked in clay sculpture, textiles, oil, acrylics and watercolor. Her watercolors are known for their vibrant colors and depth. Images seem to leap from the paper. She has exhibited widely and her works hang in many corporate and private collections including those of Paccar, Nordstrom and the 3M Company. She also teaches and lectures on the art of watercolor. "I feel privileged to be able to find something beautiful in this world and share it with other people," Barnes said.
