177th Place corridor enhancements will be topic of open house

WOODINVILLE - What will NE 177th Place look like with bike lanes, sidewalks, street lighting, landscaping and a new name? Attend the May 15 open house at Woodinville City Hall, 5 to 7:30 p.m., to find out. The study encompasses economic, recreation and transportation opportunities in the corridor along NE 177th Place and 139thAvenue NE between State Route 202 and NE 190th Street. The study will look at land use, community development, environmental, and recreational opportunities.
The city is also seeking comments on the roadway design.
"This is an exciting project because of the various development aspects such as fish habitat enhancements, streetscape amenities and most importantly traffic congestion relief," said Public Works Director Mick Monken.
Stakeholders have previously met with the city on this project to provide input. Preliminary design concepts have been developed and are available for comment.
This project is identified in the 2002-2007 Capital Improvement Plan and is estimated at $3.95 million and is funded by the utility tax implemented in 1998. Construction is anticipated to begin late 2002. Call (425) 877-2291 or e-mail your comments to @ci.woodinville.wa.us.
