Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and women in America today. Every 34 seconds a person in the United States dies from heart disease. So many people's lives have been touched with this tragic disease. People need to be aware of this and help do something to prevent this from happening to someone in their life. By staying healthy and fit as a child, you are more apt to be heart healthy as an adult. The best way to prevent heart disease is to know the facts and stay away from the bad things that are high risk factors. Knowing these as a kid, you are at much greater advantage than many of the adults around you.
Odds that a child born today will have a catastrophic cardiac event before age 60 are 1 in 3. Eating a healthy diet and exercising while you are young teaches you the discipline of being healthy as an adult.
This message is for all of the kids who don't think that they could ever grow up to be another victim of heart disease. The statistics have proven that you can. This could happen to you if you don't take action now and take responsibility for being a heart healthy kid.
