Regence BlueShield, Evergreen Healthcare reach agreement

Evergreen Healthcare has signed an agreement with Regence BlueShield that will keep Evergreen's integrated delivery system in the health plan's network.
Regence BlueShield officials say the deal is very important to its members who live in Evergreen's service area. It includes Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, Evergreen Medical Group, Evergreen Surgical Center, Evergreen Home Health, and Hospice Services.
"Evergreen Healthcare is a comprehensive system that provides valuable services to our customers," said Dwight Johnson, assistant vice president of Provider Network Management. "They are an important and valuable partner for us. Our members count on being able to see their favorite Evergreen physicians, facilities and other providers. I'm pleased we've reached this agreement."
Both sides said the agreement is a win for consumers.
"I think both sides worked hard to recognize each other's needs and to work together to reach a fair agreement," said Wendy Wilkins-Russell, Evergreen Healthcare's manager of Contracts Management and Managed Care. "It's good to know we've come to an agreement that will most benefit the people who need our services."
