Girl Scout volunteer honored
Joanne Munson of Kenmore was awarded the Girl Scouts' Silver Totem Award for her hard work, dedication and commitment to helping young girls grow courageous and strong. The Silver Totem is awarded for providing extended and outstanding service directly to girls and/or for providing enriching and inspiration programming to girls in Girl Scouts - Totem Council.Munson has dedicated eight years to being a troop leader. She is currently the co-leader of a Cadette and Daisy Girl Scout Troop and serves as her area's program director/events manager. She has also been the leader of the science unit at day camp and organized a program to help Junior Girl Scouts earn their "Science Discovery" badge.
