TJ Dance Studio recital highlights local dance students

by Carolyn Butler
DUVALL - TJ Dance Studio showcases the talents of dance students from around the Valley in its annual dance recitals on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. These recitals have become eagerly anticipated events for the entire community. Families and neighbors work together with Jayne Hancock and Peg Burnside, owners and teachers at the popular dance studio, to present a spectacular kaleidoscope of color, movement and sound.
Dancers from two to seventy-something delight audiences with tap, jazz, ballet and funk performances. With special lighting and sound effects, glittering costumes and infectious energy, these lively shows fill the Cedarcrest High School theater with enthusiastic audiences year after year.
This year the recitals are spread out over two days to accommodate the increased enrollment at the studio.
On Saturday, June 23, there are performances at 4 and 7 p.m. On Sunday, June 24, performances take place at 3 and 6 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are available at TJ Dance Studio, 14701 Main St. #C3 in Duvall.
Advance ticket sale prices reflect a $2 discount from prices of tickets purchased at the door.
Adult tickets are $7, senior citizen and high school student tickets are $5, tickets for children ages 5 through 12 are $4 and children under five are free (but they need a ticket). Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door on performance days. Previous recitals have sold out, so advance tickets are recommended.
