Two armed suspects shot an 18-year-old Bothell man last week during a "home invasion." The man was taken to Harborview Hospital for treatment. Four other people were in the apartment when the shooting occured, including a three-year-old boy.
The incident started at about 9 p.m. on Friday, June 15, at the Willow Glen Apartments, 10822 NE 148th Lane, Bothell. The resident in one of the apartments answered a knock at the door. Two men barged in, both holding handguns. Hearing a commotion, the victim came out of a back bedroom wielding a baseball bat. He was shot by one of the assailants who fired several times. Both suspects fled the apartment and were seen by a neighbor leaving in a car similar to a maroon, older Oldsmobile Delta 88.
There were five people in the apartment at the time of the shooting, including a 44-year-old woman, a 20-year-old woman, a 13-year-old boy, the 18-year-old victim, as well as the toddler. All are related, and all but the 20-year-old live in the apartment.
The suspects were described as one black male and one white male, both 17 to 18 years old. The suspects are approximately 5'9", 185 lbs. and 5'5", approximately 150 lbs. respectively. At this point, the motive for the home invasion is unknown. The investigation is continuing.
