Volunteers work to help nature

Pictured is an environmental work party of about 60 people from five Woodinville churches who laid burlap bags and woodchips at last October's Sammamish ReLeaf site next to Little Bear Creek. The burlap and woodchip combination will help with weed control and water conservation. Last week 75 volunteers from the 747 Platform Group at Boeing's Everett plant worked eight hours on Saturday, June 9, on the Sammamish River Trail south of Wilmot Gateway Park spreading about 3,000 burlap bags and 120 cubic yards of wood chips in Woodinville's Habitat Restoration Project.
