Emergency Email Network comes to King County
Citizens living or working in King County will be able to get emergency warning information from the King County Offices of Emergency Management sent directly to them via their computers, pagers and cell phones. King County is the first local government in Washington to offer this service in partnership with The Emergency Email Network, a nonprofit organization.
The Emergency Email Network is a free nationwide communications infrastructure providing instant emergency messaging from official agencies. Free subscriptions can be activated by visiting the Emergency Email Network Web site at http: www.emergencymailnetwork.com, or on King County Office of Emergency Management's Web site at http://www.metrokc.gov/prepare.
Citizens can also get information on breaking news concerning emergencies and disasters via the Regional Public Information Network (RPIN) Web site, at http://www.GOVLINK.org.
Over 30 agencies and organizations in the Central Puget Sound area are now participating in posting their information to this single Web site.
