Sisters bring home gold, silver medals
In the SCAA Track & Field Invitational (USA Track & Field sanctioned event) held in West Seattle June 8, two Woodinville girls brought home medals.
Track clubs from Tacoma, Ft. Lewis, Seattle, Federal Way and the Eastside competed.
Seven-year-old Taylor Acorn, who attends East Ridge Elementary, was competing in the 8 and under division and struck gold four times, winning the long jump with a distance of 2.93 meters; the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.04 seconds; the 400-meter dash with a time of 1.22 minutes; and the 200-meter dash with a time of 34 seconds.
Six-year-old Kimberly Acorn, who also attends East Ridge Elementary, competed in the mini-bantum division.
She won the long jump with a distance of 2.29 meters, and placed second in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
