Public invited to hear Duvall Youth Center update
The Duvall Youth Center Advisory Committee will discuss plans for the proposed center at a meeting on Wednesday, July 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m., in the Rose Room of the Duvall Library.
All those interested are welcome.
The committee has been meeting for the last six months to discuss the potential for a youth center in Duvall and agreed that the center would exist to promote personal growth and community involvement in a way that encourages creativity and positive relationships for youth.
The goals are to create a vision for the ideal youth center, to identify youth center participant guidelines, to articulate the rationale for a youth center and to become powerful advocates for teens.
The site of the proposed youth center is the former police station on Stella Street. The city has designated funds to begin the refurbishing of the building and is exploring grant opportunities to supplement this funding. Anyone interested should contact Matt McCarter ‹ King County Community Organizing Program at (206) 205-6443, or Connie Zimmerman, City of Duvall Public Works, at (425) 788-3434, ext. 32.
