YWCA School Days
Many homeless and low-income children dread the beginning of school. They feel embarrassed and scared about returning to school in old clothes or hand-me-downs without the necessary notebooks, pencils, and other school supplies.
You can help by participating in the YWCA's School Days Project. Shop for and purchase a new outfit, school supplies, backpack for a specific child, or donate funds so the YWCA can purchase gift certificates for these children.
This is a possible project for individuals, churches, civic groups, employee groups or for parents to do with their own children.
