Thank you

I would like to thank everyone who lives along Morrison St. and Stewart Ave. for again accommodating the parade route. I truly appreciate you allowing me set up the parade route in front of your homes, and to the Tolt Congregational Church for allowing us to use your side yard for the parade registration and sign-in along with the Carnation Libary for letting us use your parking lot for the holding area for the Kiddie Parade.
Thank you to the city of Carnation and the police department for all your assistance.
A special thank you to my parade announcers, Jack Ballard and Jackie Perrigoue, my parade judges Marilyn Torrison, owner of BTP, Mike Mace, owner of Traffic Signs and Greg Vandetti, owner of Greg Vandetti Insurance and to all my volunteers on the pararde route and at sign-in you were all great. Also thank you to my husband Stuart for all your help and to Whitney Wilson, who was here visiting from South Carolina. She got up very early to help me stake the parade route.
A very special thank you to the Parkwood family for again allowing us to have the carnival on your property. It was a huge success.
Most of all I would like to thank the Fourth of July committee: Steve Collins, Steve and Dorene Norton, Kathy Castello, Katie Castello, Chris Iacobazzi and Sally Kennelly.
Steve Collins has run our inner tube race for the past five years and has done a fantastic job. This was his last year hosting this event and he went out with a bang with 102 participants. Steve is has been a pleasure working with you on this committee, you will be missed. I hope next year to see you in the river. Steve and Dorene Norton have chaired this entire event for the past three years and have done an outstanding job. They will be stepping down as chairs but will continue chairing the Hot Rods and Harleys event.
To everyone who came to the Fourth of July festivities we hope you all had a great and memorable time. This is why we do it. See you again next year.
Kim Lisk, chair of the Great Carnation Fourth of July Parade
