Up, up and away
Valley View photographer Christy Allen takes a ride with George Moore, a pilot with the Red Baron Stearman Squadron. The aerobatic team was in town last week for the Bite of Seattle. The group performed several smoke shows over the Seattle Center, including one last Friday in honor of the Bite's 20th anniversary. The biplanes, built in the 1930s and '40s, were originally used as training aircraft for the U.S. Army and Navy. The team's appearances benefit Miracle Flights for Kids, a nonprofit organization providing no-cost air transportation for children and families to hospitals and specialized health care facilities around the country.
