Carnation Police Beat

July 3 - A car-prowl victim reported that when he returned from vacation on July 2, he found his car trunk open and driver's side door ajar, and the ignition in the "on" position. Nothing had been taken, and there was no entry damage, so it appears a key was used. However, the victim was not missing any keys.
July 3 - At approximately 10:20 a.m., a patrol officer heard a string of fireworks going off. Coming around a corner, he saw an adult male and three juvenile boys lighting fireworks. The officer informed the adult that the fireworks were illegal and confiscated them. No charges were filed.
July 4 - At about 1:40 p.m. a carnival employee reported being punched and scratched the day before by a fellow employee. A statement was given to police and photos were taken of the victim's swollen face and scratched neck. At about 8:30 p.m. an officer located the suspect at the carnival and arrested her for a criminal (DUI) warrant unrelated to the altercation. She claims the victim started the fight by pushing her. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Fourth Degree Assault.
July 5 - After midnight on July 4, a resident reported a fire at a neighbor's house. Suspects, still unknown, had set off illegal fireworks, causing $275,000 in fire damage to the victim's house.
