Mary Halloran Colgrove
   Mary Colgrove, age 66, died peacefully at home Aug. 6 after a prolonged bout with cancer. She was born in Chicago in 1935 to Thomas and Mary Halloran. The family relocated to Richland, Wash., in the early 40s where Tom began work at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. She attended Washington Sate University where she earned a bachelor's degree in history, as well as a teaching certificate. She then moved to Seattle where she taught at Shoreline High School. In 1957 she met John Colgrove who was attending law school at the University of Washington. They were married in 1960. In 1961 they moved to Woodinville with their newborn daughter Marianne as John began his career as an attorney in Seattle.
   Mary loved family camping trips and outings as well as annual summer vacations on Orcas Island. She also enjoyed going to the opera, symphony and plays and visits and dinners with her many friends.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Colgrove who died in 1992 and is survived by her four children: Marianne (Kevin Desinger) of Portland, John (Johanna) of Portland, Bill (Karin) of Bellingham and Steve of Seattle; grand-daughter Hailey of Bellingham; Tim Clifford of Seattle, her close companion of the last several years.
   A memorial gathering will be held at the family home at a later date.
