Kenmore Art Show
The third annual Kenmore Art Show will be held Aug. 25 through Sept. 2 from 2-8 p.m. daily. Over 1,600 artists in the greater Seattle area have been invited to submit entries to this juried show that is sponsored by the Kenmore Arts and Events Council and hosted at Northlake Lutheran Church, 6620 NE 185th St., Kenmore.
Some 200 items will be selected by the jurors and shown in four categories: painting and drawings, sculpture, photography and artisan crafts. Elementary school work will be shown on the fence this year.
A retrospective of the late Dr. Howard Dale's artwork will be held in conjunction with the show. Dale graduated from the University of Washington Medical School in 1954 and practiced family medicine in Lake City for 38 years. He lived in Kenmore for 45 years and was a charter member of Northlake Lutheran Church where he worked in woodcarving, ivory carving, scrimshaw, furniture design and construction, before moving into bronze sculpting. Special shows of his work have been at the Matzkey Gallery, Northwestern National Bank in Minneapolis, Frye Art Museum, Washington Athletic Club, Eddie Bauer Wildlife Show, Gallery of Americana in Carmel, Runnings Gallery and the Nordic Heritage Museum. There is no admission and all items will be for sale.
