Geyser showers downtown Woodinville
Water erupted at approximately 9 a.m. last Thursday, in downtown Woodinville when a subcontractor working on Albertson's irrigation system broke the service connection to a Woodinville Water District meter.
The resulting geyser shot 35 to 40 feet in the air, according to Jim Bard, systems technician for the water district.
The height of the spout reached the overhead high-power lines, making repairs difficult and potentially dangerous.
A backhoe was brought in to cap the water, which was then shut off for an hour while repairs and an improved connection were made by a water district crew.
