Snohomish council to hold public meeting

How does Snohomish County spend your tax dollars and how could the county do a better job? The county council wants to hear from you.
The Snohomish County Council will hold a public outreach meeting Thursday, Aug. 30, to both explain what the county does with the public's taxes and to solicit recommendations for improving services. The public meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the East County Senior Center, 824 Village Way, Monroe.
"Good government requires a two-way conversation," said County Council Chair Dave Somers, "and the better part of that dialogue obliges government to listen to the people. That's why we are coming to East County Aug. 30 for another in the county council's series of outreach meetings this year," he said.
The council's first outreach meeting was held in Arlington in April.
"We want to hear from citizens on ways we can improve county government," said Somers. "There will be short presentations on county government's wide ranging responsibilities and the costs of providing these mandated services, and we will report on some of the challenges the county faces."
