Near miss prompts letter

After giving an incident last week some thought, I decided to report it. My wife and I approached the corner above Hollywood School, the one with a blinking light. The light blinks if a vehicle approaches from the right.
The light was not blinking as we approached, so we made the turn to the left. At that moment, a bicycle rider came down the hill and around the corner very fast. He did not set off the light and nearly hit us. He proceeded to wave his fist at us. If bicycles or skateboards are not heavy enough to set off the blinking light, someone could be hurt, or worse, in the future.
