Woodinville to hold fall recycling event

The city of Woodinville will sponsor a fall special collection event to provide residents with the opportunity to recycle materials not collected in household recycling programs.
   These items include tires, anti-freeze, petroleum-based products, oil filters, lead acid and household batteries, motor oil, bulky yard waste (large material only), scrap wood, appliances (including refrigerators, freezers, household air conditioners, and all other metal appliances), ferrous metals, nonferrous metals, textiles, reusable or recyclable household goods, porcelain toilets and sinks, propane tanks, cardboard, electronic equipment, and cellular phones.
   User fees apply to collection of some materials. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Woodinville Park and Ride - 17800 - 140th Ave. NE from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. An event flyer with more information will be mailed to all city households.
   Compost Bin Sale
   During the special collection event the city will implement a backyard compost bin sale. Supplies are limited. The compost bins will be sold at the event at a greatly reduced price of $10 each.
