Crisis strengthens U.S.
Woodinville is a caring community. Many of you have contacted City Hall seeking ways you, your family, neighborhoods and businesses can help disaster victims on the East Coast. Many of you joined us at City Hall on Friday to participate in the President's National Day of Prayer and Remembrance. Crisis does strengthen and unite our country.
I urge you to trust in one another and your government. Personnel from federal, state, county and city agencies from all over the nation ‹ including law enforcement, health officials, fire, police, and emergency response ‹ are helping in the effort to bring relief to victims, to console those affected by the tragedy, to restore services and to regain strength to carry on.
There are many ways you can show your concern: donate blood, support disaster relief agencies, or attend a vigil. You can also support the institution of democracy by respecting the Constitutional rights of your fellow Americans and demonstrating the values that make us the greatest nation in the world.
Let the horror of last Tuesday reaffirm our commitment to one another and let us support our leaders and pray that their decisions will bring about an end to terrorism throughout the world and the rebirth of compassion and understanding for all.
Mayor Randy Ransom
